Bryanston’s Senior School Choir has been selected for the Grand Final of Barnardo’s National Choral Competition, which will take place at the iconic Birmingham Symphony Hall on 4th March 2025.
Bryanston was among 70 schools that entered the nationwide competition and has now joined the select group of 16 finalists. Bryanston’s outstanding performances of two contrasting pieces, Londonderry Air and Little Shop of Horrors, impressed the judges and secured their position in the final.
The Barnardo’s adjudicators noted, “The standard of entry was extremely high this year. A huge congratulations to your choir for all their hard work. Bryanston delivered their performances with great maturity and good energy.”
Xavier Iles, Bryanston’s Director of Music, added, “Congratulations to all the members of our choir who performed so well. We are very excited about this event and I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved.”
Now in its 17th year, Barnardo’s National Choral Competition is the largest choir competition for schools and community choirs in the UK. The competition provides a platform to showcase the extraordinary musical talents of young people while supporting Barnardo’s mission to help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier, and more hopeful.
