Head of International Pathways qualifies as an Accredited Counsellor

14 February 2025

We’re delighted to announce that Lisa Kearney, Head of International Pathways, has completed and passed The Times Higher Education course, and is now an Accredited Counsellor.

The Counsellor Accreditation Programme is designed for counsellors working in schools from all over the world who provide advice to students on career and university selection.

Just this year Lisa has assisted in nearly forty applications to ten different countries. Current A2 pupils and recent leavers have been accepted by, or received offers from top universities in the USA, Canada, Australia, Switzerland, France, Spain, and even the UAE.

Lisa Kearney commented: “Interest in studying abroad has grown rapidly. THE CAP was a useful course – it allowed me to update and cement my working knowledge, and also validates the experience I have built up after years of advising Bryanston pupils on studying abroad.”

Liz Thornton, Deputy Head and Head of Sixth Form, commented: “We are so proud of Lisa for completing this accreditation programme. As Head of International Pathways, Lisa plays such a pivotal role in helping pupils make life-changing decisions on their future studies and careers, and this accreditation will strengthen Lisa’s connections and offer further support to pupils as they apply for universities abroad. It is testament to her commitment and expertise.”
