Last weekend, Bryanston was filled with excitement and friendly competition as pupils took part in two of the school’s much-loved traditional annual events – House Singing and the Junior House Football.
On Saturday evening, the Coade Hall was packed to the rafters as each house took to the stage to perform songs from this year’s theme, “Musicals”.
With Sixth Formers leading rehearsals over the past few weeks, every house performed spectacularly delivering impressive vocals, creative choreographed routines and fantastic costumes. The competition was fierce making it a tough decision for the judges to pick a winner! In the end, Greenleaves house emerged victorious, crowned this year’s winners.
Sunday afternoon brought the same energy to the sports fields, as the Junior House Football tournament kicked off with a series of six-a-side matches. The Year 9, 10 & 11 year groups competed in a round-robin format, while the Year 9 (D) pupils played a full 11-a-side match. Winner of the Junior Girls was Allan house, Junior Boys went to Dorset house and Cranborne house won Year 9 (D) Boys.
The senior boys’ and girls’ competitions are scheduled to take place next term, where they will battle it out in an 11-a-side format.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in both events and a big thank you to all those who came out to cheer them on!
