‘Plant a Tree’ campaign as part of Bryanston’s Eco Week

6 March 2025

Our Eco Week returns week commencing Monday 10 March, and we’re excited to launch our ‘Plant a Tree’ fundraising campaign, led by our Development team.

This spring, our goal is to plant 250 tree saplings across the campus, each available for just £20. There is no limit on how many you can buy, however, we do have a limited number of saplings available in 2025, so we encourage you to secure yours early.

We will plant saplings on your behalf, choosing from native species found in our Estate’s woodlands, such as Common Beech, Silver Birch, Common Oak, Hornbeam and Wild Cherry. Depending on the species, your sapling will be between 20-60cm high and will come with a protective tube and stake to protect it from small mammals.

Proceeds from every sapling sale will go directly into Bryanston’s bursary programme, providing life-changing opportunities to those who need it most. Bursaries lie at the heart of our diverse and inclusive community, ensuring talented young people can join the Bryanston family regardless of financial circumstances.

Donors can either purchase a tree sapling through the School Shop or online. As a token of our thanks, you’ll receive a digital certificate by email.

Director of Development, Victoria Fangen Hall, commented: “It’s been wonderful to see so many people from our OB community backing this campaign and purchasing a tree sapling in celebration of Bryanston’s Eco Week.

“Our aim with campaigns such as this, is to increase young people’s social mobility and create the ability to impact positively on society by expanding access to a Bryanston education.”

This is just one of a number of initiatives our pupil-led Green Committee are exploring, in order to raise the profile of the climate crisis, as the importance of action becomes ever clearer.

Eco Week Lead Charlotte Mason commented: “At Bryanston, we are committed to nurturing entrepreneurial spirit. By integrating this with a deeper understanding and appreciation of sustainability and regenerative design, we believe our pupils will enter the professional world with a forward-thinking perspective, a commitment to supporting local communities, and the ambition to challenge conventional ideas.”
