The first whole school weekend of the term at Bryanston was filled with energy and excitement, as pupils eagerly reconnected and socialised after the long summer break. It was also a fantastic opportunity for new pupils to settle in and integrate socially, making new friends and experiencing the spirit of the Bryanston community outside.

Following a Saturday afternoon of sports fixtures, the Year 13 (A2) pupils kicked off their term with their first themed social at the school bar, while the Year 12 (A3) pupils gathered for a relaxed sit-down supper together. Meanwhile the Year 11 (B) and Year 10 (C) year groups danced the evening away at a lively silent disco.

On Sunday, Year 12 (A3) pupils braved the weather for an early start to Brenscombe Outdoor Centre, while the Year 11 (B) and Year 13 (A2) pupils competed in the first house competition of the year – basketball. The Year 10 (C) pupils spent the afternoon tackling fun inter-house challenges, including giant Jenga challenges.

The newest cohort, the Year 9 (D) pupils, enjoyed their first weekend at Bryanston, with a fun and lively quiz night on Saturday, hosted by Mr Owen, Head of Year 9 (D). They also attended their first Church Service with the Reverend Davis, followed by an afternoon soaking up the fun at Dorset Waterpark.

Throughout the weekend, boarders enjoyed the school’s expansive social spaces – both indoors and across its 400 acre estate, offering them a chance to relax and socialise together.

The House teams were thrilled to spend time with the pupils throughout the weekend. As Ben Craig, head of Portman House, said, “It’s so good to have my 62 neighbours back in the house. I’m looking forward to a great term.”
