Four talented Year 8 pupils from Bryanston Prep had their thought-provoking poems selected for publication in BV Magazine.
Juliette, Alex, Liana and Poppy crafted their poems as part of an English lesson exploring First World War poetry and the novel Private Peaceful.
Drawing inspiration from the themes of memory and reflection, the pupils were encouraged by Head of English, Beth Robbins, to delve into meaningful events from their own lives, experiences that they felt should be remembered and learned from through poetry.
She praised their work, saying, “Many congratulations to all four pupils for creating such profoundly moving poetry. Their words offer us a unique window into the thoughts and feelings of today’s youth, shedding light on the experiences they encounter and the challenges they navigate.”
The publication of these poems highlights the power of young voices and the role of literature in connecting personal reflections with universal themes.
