Bryanston Pupils Selected for Dorset Hockey

14 October 2024

Congratulations to all the pupils who have recently been selected to represent Dorset Hockey.

In the girls’ selections, Seren S and Martha W (both from Year 9 (D), were selected for the U14 team. An impressive four of the 17 girls chosen for the U15 squad were from Bryanston including Isla W, Ruby S, Zara A and Isla R, all from Year 10 (C). Special recognition also goes to Hannah C, Year 9 (D), who was selected for the development squad.

On the boys’ side, Harry H, Year 9 (D) was selected for the U14s and his brother, Charlie H (Year 8), from Bryanston Prep, earned a spot in the development squad. We look forward to hearing the results of the U15 and U17 squad trials in the coming weeks.

Players faced challenging weather conditions, but perseverance and effort were rewarded. Dorset Hockey, which runs the England Hockey Player Pathway Junior development programme, works with schools and clubs to nurture talent in this fast-paced sport. Many players who start at the county level go on to represent Dorset at regional and even national levels.

In other exciting hockey news, Charlie G, Year 9 (D), has been training with the Hampshire U14s with his final selection coming up soon. Additionally, Robert S, now in his third year playing national league hockey, has started the season in great form, establishing himself as a key player in his team.

Well done to all these talented players for their hard work and dedication. We wish them the best of luck in their upcoming matches and trials.
