This week has been a landmark for Bryanston Prep, with the school’s U10 and U13 boys playing the school’s very first rugby matches. Year 9 (D) pupils from Bryanston Senior School supported from the sidelines, cheering loudly for their younger peers. The U13A and U10A teams celebrated impressive victories, while the U13B team delivered a nail-biting performance, narrowly missing out on a win in an exciting end-to-end match.
On the hockey pitches, the Bryanston Prep girls demonstrated their continued growth and determination. The U12 team played well despite a tough match, using the experience to prepare for the upcoming National IAPS competition. Meanwhile, the U13 team dominated their game with a resounding victory, and the U10s demonstrated remarkable progress, impressing everyone with their cohesive team play and development.
Beyond the matches, Bryanston Prep’s sports programme continues to support its pupils’ sporting talent. The Upper Prep sports scholars began their High Performance Sports Programme (HPSP) at the Senior School, guided by the Head of Physical Performance.
Additionally, the development and performance swim squads have been putting in tremendous effort, training diligently around the school day to prepare for upcoming competitions. Their hard work paid off at the Dorset Schools’ Battle of the Relays Swimming Gala, where pupils delivered fantastic performances.
A special congratulations goes to Yareni (Year 8), who rose to the challenge of competing in the U16 category at the Bryanston Senior School gala. This remarkable achievement highlights Bryanston’s through-school advantage which enables talented pupils to push their limits and compete alongside senior athletes.
Bryanston Prep’s Head of Games, Josie Rixon, said, “Well done to all the pupils, coaches, and supporters who made it such a successful sporting week at Bryanston Prep!”
