Selection for GB Martial Arts Squad

18 February 2025

Congratulations to Cameron B (A2) who has been selected to represent Great Britain in the 2025  World Martial Arts Games scheduled to take place in Oslo, Norway, in November.

Cameron began practising karate just four years ago before being invited for GB selection in 2023, following his medal-winning performances at various national competitions. He competed in Kata, a choreographed set of moves simulating an attack, and kickboxing. Since then, he has been attending squad training sessions and competing in both national and international tournaments, including the World’s Martial Arts Games in Florida, where he claimed the world title.

Cameron, who lives in Dorchester and joined Bryanston from Sherborne Prep, competes alongside his younger brother. He is part of the school’s High Performance Sports Programme and is also an avid rower.

Reflecting on his achievement, Cameron said, “My long-term goal is to continue competing in Martial Arts after I leave Bryanston, progressing through the belt system and defending my world title.”

Director of Sport, Rory McCann, praised Cameron’s dedication, saying, “We are extremely proud of Cameron’s achievement. He is a dedicated and determined young man who has managed to balance his sporting talent alongside his academic studies. We look forward to watching his success in the coming months.”
