Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs)

ECAs

Christopher Mills

Head of Design & Technology / ECA Coordinator

We recognise the importance of offering young people the chance to explore new activities and interests, enabling them to have a balanced education and live life to the full.  We look to inspire and engage every child outside the classroom.

We are proud of our impressive ECA programme which is laced into the busy life of the school. Across each term, there are more than 100 ECAs on offer for our pupils to choose from.

These include an array of academic enrichment sessions, clubs, societies, discussion groups, competitions, creative and STEM based workshops for art and technology, as well as wider curricular enrichment programmes and classes for music, drama, dance, outdoor education and sports. Our programme is current, relevant, exciting and ever-changing.

We are very proud of the breath and range of ECAs on offer and work hard to ensure a really balanced collection of activities and ones that suit popular demand. The school community is blessed by the rich diversity of teaching staff, support staff and senior pupils who can pass on and promote their expertise and interests with the pupils on a weekly basis.

We’re proud that our extra and co-curricular provision stands well beyond the normal range and quality on offer within the senior independent sector.

Academic ECAs

ECAs complement the academic timetable, bolstering the ability and experience of pupils. They also provide a foot up when seeking places at university or job applications in the future.

Our Academic ECAs offer intellectual enrichment. For example, pupils with a thirst for knowledge can engage in debates and join subject-specific societies, such as the Model United Nations.

Our activities aim to stimulate critical thinking, research skills, a love for learning and encourage pupils to explore their academic interests outside of the curriculum. As you can see from our list of academic ECAs below, there is something for everyone to engage in and explore within our ECAs and wider co-curricular programs.
