The Bryanston entrepreneurial and innovative spirit

We are renowned for our creative approach at Bryanston, cultivating an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among our pupils. We provide the space and environment for young people to imagine, think beyond, develop bold ideas and bring them to life. We encourage them to have a vision and develop a pathway to entrepreneurial futures.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation (E&I) is one of our key pillars, designed to teach pupils how to commercialise their ideas.

As OB Sebastian Conran aptly said in a 2024 interview with Bryanston

“Having an idea is five per cent of the work, making it happen is 95 per cent.”

Helping pupils get their ideas off the ground

By supporting pupil-led enterprises, we encourage them to take their ideas, develop them into products or models and build their entrepreneurial portfolios.

From anti-spiking bracelets to prison reform campaigns, our pupils embrace what it means to bring a vision to life.

Thanks to a generous donation, the Bryanston Seed Fund was launched to invest and support our pupils and OBs in getting their ideas off the ground and bring their products to market.

Greenpower

Enterprise thrives on confidence

We empower pupils to be bold and innovative, understanding that they have the potential to lead the way in making impactful changes. Through pupil-led projects across all aspects of school life, they learn how to network effectively and seize every opportunity.

While not every pupil becomes an entrepreneur after leaving Bryanston, the innovative skills they develop here provide a strong foundation for success in their chosen paths.

Pupils around school

Our pupils thrive in a dynamic environment

Adaptability benefits pupils across the school as they learn how the world of business evolves in response to current trends, emerging technology and economic shifts.

Yet it is not just large-scale social and environmental changes that influence entrepreneurial landscapes. At pivotal moments, individuals can also reshape entire industries.

Old Bryanstonians have a remarkable record in this respect, consistently making impactful contributions and changing public perspectives through innovative problem solving. Their achievements are shaping the world as we know it.

Entrepreneurship extends beyond the business and economics curriculums

We believe that interdisciplinary thinking is central to entrepreneurial growth. To excel as a leader in the business world, pupils need a diverse skill set – including digital literacy, networking and team building.

Entrepreneurs are like builders, constructing companies from concepts and ideas with a range of tools and skills. At Bryanston, we cultivate a creative environment where pupils develop these essential skills, enabling them to thrive when they enter the workplace.

OBs offer pupils wisdom and mentorship

Our pupils benefit from the guidance and expertise of seasoned OBs and highly successful entrepreneurs, including designers, environmental business authors, and more. These mentors are accessible through the Beyond Bryanston network, both during their time at school and after they leave.

As entrepreneurship continues to evolve, we actively encourage our pupils to engage with it across all areas of school life. This could involve shaping a vision for an industry they see themselves in, or developing a business while they are at Bryanston, that will take them directly into the workplace as an established entrepreneur.
