Spiritual Values and Chaplaincy

Celebrating spiritual growth

Guided by Christian principles rooted in our Anglican heritage, Bryanston’s philosophy celebrates spiritual growth.

Our Christian tradition underpins our commitment to kindness and compassion and encourages pupils to explore big questions. Recognising the diverse backgrounds of our pupils, we support an inclusive environment that respects and celebrates different faiths and beliefs.

Jo Davis

School Chaplain: guiding pupils’ spiritual wellbeing

Our resident School Chaplain helps to ensure pupils’ spiritual wellbeing. As a member of our teaching staff, she has daily contact with pupils and is a frequent, reassuring presence around the school, offering a listening ear.

The Chaplain guides pupils through their spiritual journeys and coordinates religious activities and chapel services.

Through her interactions with diverse faiths, the Chaplain creates a supportive environment where pupils can choose to explore and develop their spiritual values.

Inclusive worship opportunities

Church attendance is encouraged and we aim to provide pupils with regular Christian worship opportunities which everyone can join, including friends and family.

Our Chaplain coordinates the School’s liturgical life, with church and chapel services throughout the year, including Eucharist celebrations on Sundays that mirror the vibrancy of parish communion. Music is integral to our church activities, including various school choirs and instrumental ensembles.

Each Sunday service includes two Houses who take part in leading the service, and will attend around once a term.

Roman Catholic pupils can attend Mass in Blandford Forum if desired. Meanwhile we have links with the Islamic Culture Centre, and the Synagogue in Bournemouth.

Please see the School Calendar for details of Sunday Services, and other special services through the year. Also, contact the Chaplain ([email protected]) for enquires about baptisms, confirmations and marriages, or other special occasions.
