Why do we play tennis?
The benefits of playing tennis are vast. It is active, social and is both physically and mentally challenging.

Tennis is a sport that can be enjoyed from the performance to the recreational and social level. It can be played together by all genders and ages, both individually and as part of a team.

Tennis is our leading racquet sport, providing pupils with an opportunity to develop balance, movement and coordination skills.

Who can play tennis?

Tennis is available to pupils of all ages and abilities. In the Summer term, pupils from Year 9-13 have access to team tennis. Throughout the Autumn and Spring terms, our High Performance Sports Programme supports players who have individualised training which includes team and individual sessions.

Players are also encouraged the take part in tournaments throughout the year. In the Summer term, we have ten senior teams across both boys and girls.

This is an inclusive environment which gives players an opportunity to access coaching up to four times a week.

Private individual and group coaching sessions are available to players throughout the school year.

High Performance Sports Programme - Exercise

Heart, body, craft and mind

Our sports scholars and performance athletes benefit from our High Performance Sports Programme. They have access to cutting-edge technology, featuring 3D motion cameras, integrated force platforms, and an indoor track.

Our experts provide personalised guidance to enhance performance, strength and conditioning and facilitate efficient recovery.

‘Being a sport scholar at Bryanston has really supported my tennis on and off the court. Sport scholars have access to great sports facilities and training opportunities which has helped improve my performance by building strength and power through the Performance Sports Program and playing on different surfaces including grass, indoor, hard and Astro courts. I am really enjoying the coaching and competitive matches against other schools and playing socially with my friends at the weekends.’
