We teach pupils how to develop their talents and to develop skills that extend beyond dancing, acting, music and singing.
Learning to empathise, collaborating and communicating effectively are all essential parts of being a performer.
It is not just the actors, dancers and musicians that create a theatre experience. Every part of the performing arts, from directing, to lighting, to performing involves our pupils.
We are delighted to announce the formation of our Arts Advisory Board which will help shape the Arts strategy at Bryanston.
As illustrated by the list above of OBs on our Performing Arts Advisory Board, the contribution of our former pupils to the world of performing arts has been significant.
Many of our pupils also go onto conservatoires and drama schools to pursue careers in acting, dance, directing and more.
Pupils who study or participate in performing arts have also gone into careers such as journalism, business, and law.
Pupils learn early on either as audience members or as performers themselves that failures and successes are to be celebrated and learnt from. With a culture where it is better to try and fail than to not try at all, pupils gain confidence and resilience from our co-curricular programmes.
The productions we put on are often pupil led. This is not only a fantastic way for pupils to learn how to manage and deliver on projects, but it is very often better to let pupils take creative leads. Young minds are not bound by the same creative restriction adults often put on themselves.
Staff at Bryanston understand that creativity can come from anywhere or anyone, and very often the best creative ideas come from our students. Whether it is designing set scenery or technical direction, if there is a place for a pupil to employ their creative talents, then it is our job to enable them.
Our performing arts pupils can articulate their vision and show how they are moving towards it.
