Record results for our IB cohort
Bryanston’s departing IB Diploma cohort have set a high bar with this year’s results, with the School’s highest ever average score of 38 points.
Headmaster Mark Mortimer: “We are incredibly proud of their achievements. These results, coming at the end of a year disrupted by Covid-19, are testament to their hard work and to the commitment and dedication of their teachers. The IB is a world-class qualification, and these pupils now begin the next stage of their academic careers full of confidence and belief in their abilities.”
There were outstanding performances from Aurelia S, Imogen N and Arianne J, while 45% of the cohort were awarded 40 points or above – a truly excellent result.
77% of Bryanston’s IB pupils achieved 35 points or above and we were delighted to see pupils achieving 43, 44 and the maximum score of 45 for their diplomas.
IBDP Coordinator Jo Strange, commented: "I am extremely proud of all of our pupils who have made a huge contribution to the School, as well as the local and global community. Their diligence and positivity set a great example to the whole school. They have used the opportunity of their last few months to pursue worthwhile academic enrichment, service and film opportunities. I am delighted for them."
Many pupils gained the highest grade in their subjects – in fact, over a third of all grades awarded were at level 7.
Meanwhile, we are likewise delighted with the results of the pupils who took the IB Careers-Related Programme. Head of IBCP Rose Ings further commented: “We are very proud of our pupils’ IBCP results, particularly the HL 6 grades and the pupils’ reflective project results. It’s testament to the hard work of the pupils and their dedicated teachers, and it has been a rewarding experience for all of those involved.”
