Bryanston pupil wins place in art exhibition
Bryanston pupil Rollo Bryant has been awarded the chance to exhibit a piece of his GCSE design work in the Marshwood Vale Arts Award Exhibition.
His domestic mood light will be displayed alongside works by other artists and designers at the Bridport Art Centre later this month.
Competition in the design category of the awards was very strong this year. With just three winning entries in each category this is a fantastic success for Rollo, who was competing against experienced designers.
Rollo’s design was a domestic mood light manufactured using recycled materials, addressing the issue of sustainability in design.
Chris Mills, Head of Design and Technology at Bryanston said ‘This piece demonstrates how Rollo has used his eye for aesthetic appeal and applied his practical skill to produce a very impressive final product. We were especially impressed by the way he experimented and developed the surround for the lighting shade using crushed glass set in resin.'
The exhibition runs from 26 October to 23 November at the Bridport Art Centre in Dorset and full information is available onwww.marshwoodawards.com
