Bryanston welcomes visitors from Japan
Over the weekend we were delighted to welcome 10 Japanese pupils from Handa School in the Aichi prefecture who undertook scientific research projects with Bryanston pupils.
One group explored the physiological effects of exercise, measuring heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and carbon dioxide in exhaled breath. A group of chemists took water samples from many sources round the school and tested for hardness and a range of minerals. In physics, wind turbines were explored testing the output power of a small turbine, as well as analysing the lift and drag of an aerofoil in the school wind tunnel. Presentations were made on their findings by all of those who took part.
Today the visitors are attending an English lesson considering Japanese poetry and then a variety of science and economics classes to round off their visit to Bryanston.
