Chemistry Gifted and Talented Afternoon
On Thursday 24 November, nine Forres Sandle Manor years six and seven pupils arrived for an afternoon of chemistry for the gifted and talented. The programme included a workshop session on exothermic and endothermic reactions, followed by a substantial chemistry tea before finishing with a flashes and bangs demonstration lecture from Mr Turrill and Mr Elliot.
To quote directly from the Forres Sandle Manor staff: "The children had an absolute blast (quite literally!) and were full of excitement and praise on the return journey. We were looked after brilliantly and made to feel so welcome. As a non-scientist, I certainly felt that I learnt a lot from the session and I know the children definitely benefitted from all the hands on experience. Please also pass on our thanks to the sixth form pupils, who were excellent ambassadors for Bryanston."
