Another Arkwright Scholar for Bryanston
Zander M has become the 13th Bryanston pupil to gain the prestigious Arkwright Scholarship.
This award is given to 16-year-old students that aspire to be future leaders of engineering. The exhaustive selection process involves an intense interview for those students that pass a challenging engineering design exam, and who intend to study engineering-related courses at A level.
The Arkwright Trust is a charitable organisation that aims to nurture future leaders in engineering, computing and technical design and is seen as the most prestigious scholarship scheme of its type in the UK.
Bryanston’s Design and Technology department were not surprised by Zander’s success; the D&T Scholar in A3, he performed very well at GCSE and has been instrumental in the success of this year’s Greenpower team. His contribution to the development of the two race cars, overseeing the race strategies and managing of the race drivers, made him a worthy team captain.
